Here's Some Food For Thought. ... Since I'm single and living in a bachelor pad, I'm always eating out. Yes, it's pathetic but I don't cook. Does using the microwave count? Either way, I found some awesome places to eat during my dinner break and here are my favorites: 1) Thai Rama I need your help people! If you know a place with good grub that's pretty healthy, tell me about it. I'm trying to eat clean since my cholesterol is sky high. But hey, if you can't have some cheat days -- why work out??? I love ice cream and fried chicken. Also, if you would like to come over and make me a home cooked meal, I'm all for it! 11 CommentsLeave a comment |

Ross - try Half Moon sometime. If you like fried chicken, the chicken tenders are awesome there. Actually, everything is - and it's definitely high in the cholesterol factor, therefore goes down quite nice.

Ross -- you should try RUMBI--- is pretty healthy...they have alot of tropical salads selection, and the sandwhiches are very good --- if you like Thai or Vietnamese food --- Just holla -- can show you what i can make...
Try Barrio Cafe, they have some great light meals among the cheese laden selections... and the atmosphere is fantastic. And their coffee is seriously amazing... try ordering it there as they present your table with a French Press. And when venturing out of downtown... I heart Kyoto in Old Town Scottsdale.
How could I forget Pita Jungle in Tempe? Well, technically I didn't since I just posted this.

Like you, I really don't like to cook but recently I've been put into circumstances where cooking for myself is necessary. So I've developed the art of cooking for one (or two), in the simplest way possible, while eating well. Is it possible? Why, yes. Sample menu. What I call The Greek One Dish Meal: Ingredients
?1 pizza crust sprinkled with extra virgin olive oil
?1 cup of ricotta cheese and 1 cup of feta cheese
?1 cup of black olives
?1 cup of clean, chopped raw spinach
?2 cups of diced tomatoes (low-acid type)
?1/2 cup of diced onions sauteed in olive oil
?2 cloves of minced or chopped raw garlic
?1/4 cup lemon juice
?1 cup yogurt
?1 chopped, peeled cucumber.
?2 table spoons mayonnaise or mayonnaise substitute.
Steps
1.Bake the pizza crust according to your recipe or package directions
2.In a small bowl, mix the yogurt with the mayonnaise and add the chopped cucumber to the sauce.
3.In a medium bowl, mix the chopped spinach with the ricotta cheese and add the feta cheese to the cheese and spinach mixture
4.Spread the mayonnaise and yogurt mixture/sauce over the already baked pizza crust first.
5.Put all the ingredients on top of the mayonnaise-yogurt-cucumber-cheese-spinach mixture on the already baked, crispy, crunchy pizza crust. Top with layers of diced tomatoes, onions, and garlic, and put under the broiler until the cheese heats and begins to melt. Serve slices warm with olives, tomatoes, and diced cucumber.

I gotta say life just isn't fair. You work out all the time and have to watch your cholesterol while I am a petite female who eats whatever, whenever. However, I do cook some awesome "home cooked" meals and can show you how to adapt them to use the microwave.
The picture of your kitchen made my jaw drop...I'd LOVE to come over and show you how to make a quick lasagna or roast with potatoes and carrots. Just let me know when and all I ask is a pool lesson on the blue felt.

Not sure I can help much on the healthy side of things but being single myself I have learned how to cook what "mom used to make"! I can show you how to make lasagna using your prized microwave! I also can cook a mean roast with veggies...let me know if you want me to teach you 'cuz I'd LOVE to cook in that kitchen!
