Happy Halloween!

Ross Shimabuku

Happy Halloween!

It's my favorite event of the year because I basically get to stuff my face with candy..anything with chocolate makes me happy! Halloween is always fun because I'm usually on a sugar high all day and all night long.

My Dumbest Travel Blunder

12:04 PM Mon, Oct 30, 2006 |
Royal Norman

I like to think I'm a well-seasoned traveler. We have been on enough airplanes to have the routine down. Even when the TSA changes the rules, even with long lines, we just have a knack for dealing with it. Our worst experience was an 18-hour trip from Ft. Lauderdale to Phoenix, with stops in Cincinnati and Dallas that included the evacuation of a terminal. That we got home that night was just sort of amazing. But that wasn't a blunder. T...

Gone to the Dogs

Tess Rafols

Forget about MySpace, forget about Friendster, how about Dogster? Yes, there is such a thing!!! My sister recently told me about this website that's literally gone to the dogs. So of course, being the dog lover that I am, I had to put my two pooches on the website.

A Message Of Hope

12:41 PM Wed, Oct 25, 2006 |
Carey Peña

The funny thing about politicians is that they often make their jobs harder than they have to be. I'm not saying that they have it easy because, after all, it would be impossible to please everyone all the time. But what many of our men and women in office fail to understand is that the American people don't like all the side stepping, leaning, leaping -- call it what you will, they don't like all the dancing around the truth. What they lik...

I had a baby!

Scott Pasmore

Well, let's just say it felt like I had a baby...I think. (haven't actually had one up to this point in my life)

Why is everyone trying to set me up on a date?

Claudia Rivero

I have noticed lately that many of my closest friends and family members are on a mission to find me a date.

A Completely Different World

1:50 PM Thu, Oct 19, 2006 |

I never thought I'd become such an adult that I'd stop relating with what it's like to be a teenager. Lately I realize it's more and more evident, the signs are everywhere... this is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WORLD.

Murphy's Law

My blog is coming a little late today, because frankly, I should have known better.

Send the elevator back down....

3:44 PM Tue, Oct 17, 2006 |

My paternal grandfather was a Baptist minister in Virginia Beach...a "preacher", for those of you who know where I'm coming from... and one thing he used to always tell me, was "send the elevator back down," when God blesses you with achievement.

Life of a Harried Mom

4:19 PM Mon, Oct 16, 2006 |
Patti Kirkpatrick

This is a hurried last-minute post because, like so many of you, I am a harried mom, fresh off a weekend of 12 year old birthday sleepovers and a college freshman homecoming, along with the usual duties of laundry and grocery shopping. In short, I forgot about this blog responsibility until I walked in today.

Connecting with your kids

10:16 PM Thu, Oct 12, 2006 |
Beverly Kidd

As a working parent, finding time to spend with my two boys is a challenge. They are in school during the day and I work at night. One way I've managed to squeeze in some quality time is to volunteer at their school. You'd be surprised how much fun you can have by going back to school.

Two Left Feet

7:24 AM Tue, Oct 10, 2006 |
Olivia Fierro

As a kid I loved to dance. I laugh when I see my nearly 4 year old neice, because she is always "performing" and moving, moving, moving. That's how I was. With that said, I haven't performed any type of dance or routine in front of an audience in exactly 15 years. That will change this Saturday night, for better or worse.

Preposterous Price for a Pooch

2:07 PM Mon, Oct 09, 2006 |
Kirsten Joyce

I've heard of making payments to pay off a car, college loan, mortgage, tuition, furniture... but when did purchasing a *pooch* require a payment plan?

My husband and I were recently window shopping in one of Scottsdale's lovely shopping areas, and we happened upon a cute window display with playful puppies.

We walked in to browse.

As we admired the cute faces, sprawled out bodies, and longing stares.... our attention...

Lost in Stanley Park

12:44 PM Mon, Oct 02, 2006 |
Sue Breding

It is an evergreen oasis of 1000-acres close to the heart of Vancouver's downtown. More than a century old, Stanley Park has the historic grandeur of Central Park in New York City and the most lush landscaping, vividly colored flowers and large masses of perennial plantings I have ever seen.
