I watched as passengers threw away water bottles, make up, shampoo, even a brand new bottle of Dolce and Gabana perfume. (Hey, that's what I wear!) People were stressed, frustrated and most of all confused. I felt bad and was just glad I was reporting on it and not actually going through it. Last weekend in Texas, I was the one, stressed, frustrated and confused. I went through it.

If you haven't heard yet, they've relaxed the ban. I stress the word RELAXED because let's just say I didn't pass with FLYING colors.

I packed my carry-on according to airline regulations. I obediently placed my toiletries in my clear ziplock baggie keeping in mind that each container of liquid could be no more than 3 oz. I confidently proceeded to the screening area and walked right through without beeping---what a breeze. But wait, what is the hold up with my bag? I am told rather sternly that one of my items did not pass inspection, I had ACCIDENTALLY place my brand new bottle of you guessed it, Dolce and Gabana perfume in my bag. They told me it would either have to be thrown in the trash (uh-huh!) or put into my check in luggage. No way was I going to part with that bottle of perfume. What a hassle to go back... and get my bag... and place the items in.

Back to the screeners. This time I decided to go through another line. Again I walked right through. What, another hold-up with my bag? Would you believe that the screener informed me that yes, each container of liquid I had was 3 oz. or less, but that the total amount of my liquids exceeded 20 oz. I was informed that I would have to either throw some in the trash or put them in my check in luggage. Sound familiar? I knew better than to FLY off the handle, but I did ask to speak with a supervisor. She let me through.
