It's a perfect-weather fall Friday night, and while most couples are out on the town, eating, drinking or catching a movie, my fiance and I are pacing across the backyard.
We're facing each other and counting out loud: one two three, one two three, one two three -- trying not to lose our place and trying just as hard not to laugh.

Our wedding is just about month away. A few weeks ago, we decided it might be a good idea to take a dance lesson. We know how to dance or at least we thought we did. We just wanted to learn a few moves to look a little more "smooth."

My fiance and I have been together for six years now. We are always the first ones on the dance floor at any party, and thanks to Mark's "unique" style, usually the center of attention as well. So when our dance instructor implied that we needed more than a little bit of help, we were in shock. How can this be?

We chose a Stevie Wonder song for our first dance. We've had three lessons and learned a box step and a two turns. Tonight, he led me around the dance studio and we smiled, proud of our skills. Then our instructor stopped the music and said "now let's try it to the beat." Apparently we have a lot to learn.

Fortunately for us, we have three and a half more weeks to practice. We also know it won't matter to either of us if we miss a step, as long as we're having fun. And as long as there are no KTVK cameras there to catch it.
