My Super Bowl Experience

By Courtney Zubowski

I attended a wedding in Texas this past weekend. Actually, I was a bridesmaid in the wedding. Talk about non-stop activities and late nights. That's the reason I slept through the Super Bowl.

I had been hearing about all of the Super Bowl activity for days. You couldn't avoid knowing what was going on unless you lived in a cave. Everytime I turned on the TV or radio I heard all the hype. Everytime I opened a newspaper I read all the hype. When I went to the grocery store I saw all the food hype.

I can't say I am a huge football fan, but I do like all the hype. The game, the commercials, and the half-time. I was all prepared to head to a party to watch the game with friends. First though, I needed a quick rest. I positioned myself in front of the television and I can remember the Colts running onto the field. The next thing I knew---well let's just say, the game was over.

Thank goodness for the the hype that continued. On Monday morning thanks to TV, radio, and newspapers, I heard all there was to hear and then some. And by the way, I didn't even miss the commercials---I saw them on the Internet !

I had the best of all worlds-- a fun wedding weekend, a good nights rest and pre and post game hype.
