One of the jumbo jets landed in New York and another in L.A. today hoping to court the U.S. airline industry. This new beast of a bird seats up to 550 people, has a wingspan that's the length of a football field, holds 81,890 gallons of fuel and cruises at 560 mph.

I flew to Europe 6 years ago and irrationally stressed the whole 10 hours.

I had a long time to run through plenty of thoughts: How many times has this plane made this trip? What if the maintenance guys miss a problem of forget to put in an important screw? Why do the flight attendants tell us about the floatation/seat cushions when there's no possible way were going to float out of a fiery crash into the Atlantic? Are these the thoughts everyone who's not all that comfortable with flying has?

Now after hearing the future of intercontinental flight is aboard the king kong of planes I'm not sure I'll ever make it to Europe again. What's next... Boeing will ditch the Sky Mall magazine and just build Arizona Mills aboard a plane?
