April 2007 ArchivesTu mereces ser feliz! Mereces ser amado, mimado y querido. Comprendido, escuchado y protegido. ...As predicted, my in-box is full. Told you so! The swingers story aired last night (if you missed it I'm attaching a link to my archive page ). Well, let me tell you my friends... this morning I was somewhat afraid to log in to my e-mail! A controversial story like this is quite a challenge because no matter what you do...someone is going to be mad. My goal... So my son Taylor and me, after visiting two colleges in two days (Illinois and Georgia Tech) had a couple of hours before our flight home from Atlanta Tuesday afternoon. We decide to surprise our buddy Howie McCann, who runs a baseball training facility north of Atlanta, and visit him unannounced ...Okay so I'm working on this story about suburban swingers and it's got people talking. Talking and blogging and sending me e-mails. Lots of e-mails! It's a controversial topic that cuts to the heart of a morality debate. It also raises a lot of questions about the state of marriage in today's society. One marriage counselor I talked to said 80% of marriages fail. 80%! Why? She said it has a lot to do with sex and intimacy. ...March 31, 2007 - a day I will never forget (and my husband better not, either)! ...So I went to a wedding in Cleveland over the weekend. I know you're probably thinking, Cleveland's not "back East." But to an Arizona girl who's never lived anywhere further than Colorado ... it's the Far East! ...A chance to take a chance. It's all most people really want. And maybe those who've been denied too many chances want it even more. ...To all the wonderful people who waited in line... a long line at times... for autographs from 3TV on-air personality... thank you! I hear it almost everyday. It's true, I do have a great job, traveling our wonderful state, looking for beautiful spots and interesting characters to put on our 3TV's Good Evening Arizona. ...It's that time of year again. You know, when the temperatures finally dip down below 100, sometimes even into the 90's. it's called October and in the high country, the weather is beautiful. ...Face it, most of us here in our fair state are from some place else...many from spots in the country where there're these tall things, called "trees" with green things, known as "leaves" sticking out of them. ...Almost every spring, I'm blessed to do a report on a wonderful place called Canaan in the Desert. This is the time of year to take to the trails, and those trails are right here in the valley. ...Mighty mussels are invading our beloved rivers and lakes. What can you do about it? So just what am I talking about? ...
Spring is here and it's time to dust ourselves off and head out for a culinary adventure! ...Every now and then it is good to change up your routine. Go out and seek something new. It's the one story I get asked about most, singing cons at Sheriff Joe's Tent City... so here are the high notes. The con-testants sang everything from soulful ballads, to hip hop, one guy belted out a Garth Brooks country classic. Well, they may be in low places, behind bars wearing pink socks and hand cuffs, but at Tent City they're rockstars in stripes. Let me tell ya, it was one captive audience! ...Did you know there are about 10,000 children in Arizona's foster care system? To me, this is shocking. And it's become even more surprising now that I've gotten to know some of the kids. It was about a year ago when I heard 3TV was going to begin the "Are You My Family" segment. I can't really explain why, but I was immediately interested. The stories are a collaboration between 3TV, AASK and The Fore Foundation. AASK stands fo... The flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, and everyone is sneezing. That can only mean one thing, spring has sprung. Now for you Valley folk, it has been spring since October. 70 degree temperatures and nice sunny days, who could complain? |
