Back to the track

By Scott Pasmore

Racing a Sprint Car is THE most incredible and wild thing I have ever done and I'm really excited because I'm racing again this year.

I teamed up with Kevin Montgomery and Mike Leslie, who have been racing most of their lives, and they have built me one incredible car. (Click the picture to the right for a better look.)

We race on the dirt tracks at Manzanita, Casa Grande and Tucson. The car weighs less than 1,500 lbs., and has about 650 hp!

It bucks and snorts and hauls you know what! If you don't hang on, you will definitely get thrown off!

It's been more than a year since I had the pleasure of racing. I drove in my first race Saturday night (May 12) in Casa Grande. Considering that, I did pretty well. Came from 8th to 4th in the heat race. I was running in 9th in the Main race but got hit by another car which bent my steering arms and I limped without much handling to 16th place.

My next race will be at Manzanita (35th Avenue & Broadway Road) in two weeks, May 26, for a 50 lapper!

A huge thanks to my sponsors Checker Auto Parts, The Parker Store and Canyon Home Builders for making this happen.

I've put together a little slideshow of the car being built. We put it together in two days so I could race Saturday night. I think you'll agree it is a pretty, but bad-to-the-bone car!
