Confessions of ambulance chaser--I wish I had a buck..
By Mike Watkiss
I wish I had a buck for every murder I've covered that was committed by some stupid, jealous, control-freak boy-friend or husband. I know I'd be rich!

The latest such story--the brutal Fourth of July murder of a beautiful young woman by the name of Brianna Wood. As the Nation was celebrating its birthday, Ms. Wood was being stabbed to death and having her throat slit allegedly at the hands of her live-in boyfriend--a 24-year-old named Ryan John Chronis. It is a twisted story but suffice it to say that Ryan Chronis is--by most accounts--a dead beat scumbag with a long history of meth use who allegedly murdered Brianna Wood in front of her two young children. Chronis then allegedly loaded the body in the back of Ms. Wood's SUV--leaving Brianna's two young sons ages 2 and 3 all alone in their apartment--as he headed to Mexico to dispose of the evidence. The good news is that some heads-up Mexican cops busted Chronis before he could dump the body. I'll have more on my interaction with Brianna's wonderful and loving family later...but at this point I just wanted to go on the record and encourage every stupid, cowardly asshole who has ever contemplated violence against his wife or his girl-friend--shoot yourself instead--I'm tired of covering the stories and the world would be a better place without you...mw

RIP Brianna Wood 1984-2007

Amen! I am so happy that the media is putting it's focus on Brianna and supporting her two sons. Too much it's about the jerk boyfriend and the woman becomes another statistic. He has not destroyed one life. He has destroyed many. Two little boys, one of which is still too young to have any lasting memories of his mother. A father, 3 sisters, 2 grandmas, uncles, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends have had their lives destroyed by this despicable person. Many people will continue to feel the effects of this for years to come. He has killed someones first love, first kiss, first friend, mother of a mans child, and so much more. He has killed someones future mother in law, sister in law, grandmother... My memories of Brianna will forever be shrouded in heartache instead of the happiness and nostalgia they used to have.

Brianna was an amazing person and she was one of the greatest friends anyone could have ever had in the world. I knew her since the 3rd grade and then I moved to the west side of town and lost touch. We just got back in touch a little over a year ago through myspace and it is a tragedy to loose such an amazing person such as Bri. Thank you for writing a story about her. I really think her story will touch the lives of many women out there who are in situations such as she was and by doing so, I hope somehow her story breaks the cycle.
God Bless!

MIKE, YOU INTERVIEWED ME ABOUT 18 MONTHS AGO WHEN MY 19 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER DOLORES WAS FOUND IN THE TRUNK OF HER X-BOYFRIEND'S CAR IN PHOENIX. THE 4 MONTH OLD SON OF THIS ASSHOLE WAS LEFT BEHIND FOR MY WIFE AND I TO RAISE. I CAN TELL YOU THAT THE WHEELS OF JUSTICE TURN SLOWLY AND THE PRIME SUSPECT IN OUR DAUGHTER'S CASE HAS YET TO BE CHARGED WITH KILLING OUR BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR PROFESSIONALISM.

Mike, I applaud your guts for speaking your mind on this issue. I am a 35 year survivor of domestic violence. I think that men who abuse their wives and/or children should be tortured then killed. My baby was abused by his father at the age of 10 months. There is NO EXCUSE for this crap.

I went to high school with Ryan and like most others that went to Sunrise, I was shocked by this news! I can't believe that such a horrible thing has happened to such a beautiful mother of 2! Lately it seems like these things are happening more and more and nothing is being done!!! We have to start making examples of these scumbags who take our family and friends away from us... This could be one of us someday mourning the loss of a son or daughter because of some crazy jealous jerk! I think that people who commit crimes need to be punished and die a slow painful horrible death because that's what they have given the person that they hurt or killed and they deserve to feel pain a million times worse. The crimes are not stopping and nothing will ever stop the violence unless we start punishing these people back. I know that others might not agree with me but what if you got an eye for an eye when you committed a crime? What if, when you killed someone by stabbing them, if for your punishment you would get stabbed also! It sounds horrible and politically incorrect but what is incorrect is that innocent awesome people are being murdered and tortured and nobody is teaching these criminals a lesson. My heart, tears, and prayers go out to Briannas family. I can't imagine what they are going through and I think about them everyday and those sweet little boys who will never get to see their mommy ever again! May she rest in peace and may justice be found!!

In regard to Mike Watkiss' comments "Confessions of an ambulance chaser I wish I had a buck," well, I wish I had a buck for every murder committed by a control-freak female who murdered their unborn children through a process this sinful country calls 'abortion.'
The largest mass murder in the history of the world, actually, all done by WOMEN, and all done against the most defenseless of all human beings there is, unborn children.
I'd have around $50 million dollars from this type of murder of defenseless babies in this country alone.
'Course you won't hear Buttkiss ever say anything about THIS, because it's not politically correct like going after men is, and Buttkiss is as politically correct as they come. He wants to keep his job in a politically correct liberal media, so he's bound and determined to say the right things and do the right things that please the politically correct powers that be that write his paychecks.
And I would say that the women who do this and the cowards who support them like Buttkiss are "assholes" also.
About as big of assholes as they come.
I don't expect this to get posted, however, because I'm sure this website will protect Buttkiss and only allow politically correct comments on their board. But at least it's been said, and it's true, and let their censorship be upon their own hypocritical heads.

Zeb: It appears you have a serious opinion re: abortion. NO PROBLEM WITH THAT. It does sound as if you are confusing your stand on that issue with another issue (just as serious). It's not a man v. woman thing. It's about any human being torturing another. Use your outrage for good...not the criticism and hate-spewing you provided above. Take a deep breath....

What the heck is Zeb talking about? This article was not an abortion debate. It is about the murder of a beautiful young mother. Where did he get the idea that abortion was a part of this? Go spread your hatred and obvious self loathing somewhere else. We don't want it here. We want to commemorate Bri here not read some wackos crazy comments.
