Fast Times at Ridgemont....I mean Manzanita!

By Scott Pasmore

It was a hot night in many aspects at Manzanita Speedway Saturday night for the last Sprint Car race of June. I finally got after it and raced to a 3rd place in the heat race. It gave me a lot of confidence since I beat some of the top drivers. However, it only really counts in the Main race and I started in a good spot in 11th. I felt I could drive to a top ten finish for the first time...but my gauge showed my engine was running extremely hot so I pulled off the track a few laps before the checkered flag. Turns out it was a bad gauge, which I'm happy about because the engine is ok!

The sprint cars turn up the heat Tuesday night for a patriotic night of racing Tuesday July 3rd at Manzanita Speedway. A 50-lap race along with fireworks, should be a great time. And race fans, it really isn't that bad, once the sun goes down!

A big thank you to a new sponsor, Farmers Insurance...Agent David Klecka is on board. Also, a big thanks to all my other sponsors who make racing possible, Checker Auto Parts, Discount Tires, Canyon Home Builders, Parker Store, Burns Pest Elmination, Arizona Race Mart, Arizona color.com, Desert Valley Auto Parts, Oakley, Sonoco fuel and Acme Powerwash.com
