I was going through the drive-through ATM. I have the deposit thing down to a science, always keeping a spare envelope in my glove box and a deposit slip or two in my wallet. Armed with those things, I'm always ready for somebody to hand me money. (Not that it happens, but if it did, I'd be ready.)

Well, the bank has installed new ATMs since I last drove through a few weeks ago. Envelopes are no longer required. No deposit slips, either.

You just slide your check (or cash) -- up to 30 at a time -- straight into the slot. In a few seconds, a scan pops up and you confirm the amount. That's it.

There's even a little image of the check printed right on your receipt. How cool is that? I know, I know. I'm a geek. (I actually called my mom to tell her about it. She agreed that I'm a geek.)

But it is cool. I don't care what you say. Environmentally friendly, too, as you're using less paper.

Bye-bye deposit envelopes!
