I called e.l.f. today to check on my order. (They say in their order confirmation that processing time is seven to 14 business days. We're well within that, but I was curious.)

Anyway, the info from my friend (and lots of e-mails sent my way) about the Nordstrom buyout is apparently a rumor, according to the company's customer service line. The prices on the site are REGULAR PRICES!

They keep their overhead seriously low and pass on the savings to the customers.

That's thrilling to me because the stuff is totally affordable. Gotta love that.

Because these are everyday prices, though, it removes some of the urgency of the "fire sale," which is both good and bad.

The get-it-before-it's-gone feeling is no longer, but it's good to know that I can stock up any time without overloading my credit card. (That puppy gets enough of a workout, thanks.)

It goes to show you can't always trust what's in an e-mail, no matter who sent it. The core info -- $1 makeup -- was right, but the reason was completely off.

So, sorry about the rumor, but I still think it's a great find. It doesn't really matter why the price is what it is. You can't beat $1 makeup ... especially now. I stand by the tip.

I'm just excited to see how I like the products. I guess I'll have to wait and see if they're worth the buck.
