Ensconsed in an historic house with a deep front porch, this cute downtown spot has become a local favorite for weekday lunches and weekend breakfasts. Breakfast items (served all day) are anything but typical. They include house-made cranberry-citrus granola (crunchy with pepitas and cashews), apple fritter French toast with ice cream, Irish steel-cut oatmeal with Tahitian vanilla and caramelized banana, and roasted sweet potato pancakes with ginger mascarpone and toasted pecans. If you can't handle that much sugar, try a MishMash (eggs scrambled with savory goodies) or maybe something like The Egg, a square of puff pastry topped with fried eggs, bacon, garlic chives, roasted grape tomatoes and a dab of house-made creme fraiche. For lunch, there are soups, salads, sandwiches and fancy tarts, as well as a rotating selection of simple desserts. Look for ginger scones (studded with luscious bits of fresh ginger) and heavenly molasses cookies. Breakfast and lunch, Tu-Sa. $
