Ted Liaros of Ted's Hot Dogs was a Greek immigrant who started selling hot dogs in Buffalo, New York in 1927. Lucky for us, his son Spiro decided to bring the popular, well-established concept (boasting eight locations in western New York) to Tempe in the 80s. Just like the other stores, the Tempe Ted's specializes in hot dogs of every description -- foot longs, jumbos, cheese dogs and chili dogs -- charcoal broiled and served with all the fixings. Although the hot dogs are imported from Buffalo, the Italian and Polish sausages come from our very own Schreiner's (which isn't too shabby either!). Ted's also offers good burgers, homemade hot sauce, handmade onion rings and fries. But its the juicy dogs that'll put the wag in your tail. Lunch and dinner daily. $
